Antiquity[edit]
This antiquity furnishing can be obtained via the Antiquities system. First, you must obtain the following Antiquity lead:
Icon | Lead | Location | Source(s) | Difficulty | Codex | ||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
File:ON-icon-lead-Stepped Fret Plinth.png | Lead: Stepped Fret Plinth | Western Solstice | Master | Muzah-Tei | Verita Numida | Muzah-Tei | |
Delicate fret work. Well preserved despite sand and grit. Wind motif? No. Surging waters. Crashing waves. Perhaps a funerary plinth? Base for votives. Offerings. Unless we are looking at a stump missing its trunk. | Take notice of the grooves along the plinth's edge and the less defined scratches near its center. I posit this was a merchant's plinth. A jewelry stand of some sort would account for the wear, with dangling necklaces leading to the scratches. | Why an additional stand when plinth works just as well? Defeats purpose of plinth. Although, must admit, grooves are sign of consistent wear. Repetitive motion. A stand for a tool or mechanism? Much to chew on. | |||||
File:ON-icon-lead-Harmonic Bismite.png | Lead: Harmonic Bismite | Western Solstice | Master | Amalien | Muzah-Tei | Verita Numida | |
You should have seen my face when I dug this piece of bismuth from the ground. With the way it caught the moonlight, I thought I had found a piece of the Aurbis itself. Seems lighter than it should be, though. Can bismuth be hollow? | Have you tried coaxing the songbird from its nest? A swift hammer tap should suffice. Listen closely. Some birds sing at frequencies difficult for Altmer to hear. | I believe Muzah-Tei is asking if you have checked the bismuth for harmonic qualities. Surely you would have noticed drilled perforations had this bismuth been used for beadwork. Therefore, its hollow nature may be a sign of musical properties. | |||||
File:ON-icon-lead-Carved Stone Key.png | Lead: Carved Stone Key | Western Solstice | Master | Reginus Buca | Verita Numida | Amalien | |
I have come across an interesting piece of stonework, Verita. Fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and not of insignificant weight. I thought this may be a mercantile tool of some sort. Perhaps a weight to measure goods on a scale? | I could say the same about any stone found in a dig site. No, I believe this to be an embellishment. Note the small hole on the underside of the stone. Shallow, but purposeful. It may have decorated a tool or weapon. | There seem to be signs of faded threads in the hole you noted, Verita. I've seen similar threading in Dwemer machinery, especially their finer mechanisms. Rather than an embellishment or weight, I believe this may be the head of a winding key. | |||||
File:ON-icon-lead-Hand-Polished Shell.png | Lead: Hand-Polished Shell | Western Solstice | Master | Reginus Buca | Muzah-Tei | Reginus Buca | |
A gorgeous specimen to say the least. Clearly well-tended to, as no natural phenomenon would lead to such an even polish. A keepsake reminiscent of home? After all, culture can be found even in the odds and ends we carry with us. | Top of shell, yes, but interior as well. Circular grooves near edge twist towards mouth. Hermit crab, must be, but long lived. Remained with shell long enough to leave grooves. Fingerprints. This was a symbiotic relationship. | Of course. A treasured companion. I still remember brushing the coat of a mastiff I had as a child. The gentle work of this polish has taken on a new light, Muzah-Tei. Let us hope this crab merely outgrew its shell. | |||||
File:ON-icon-lead-Wave Embellished Comb.png | Lead: Wave Embellished Comb | Western Solstice | Master | Muzah-Tei | Ugron gro-Thumog | Muzah-Tei | |
Discovered comb with delicate engravings. Kept in pocket and plucked idly. Strange result worth noting. Crabs everywhere. Coincidence? Laughter. Does a glyptodon sprout wings in the spring? Howling. I rest my scales. | There are battle hymns sung in Orsinium that tell of drumbeats that enraged local wildlife and could drive wolves towards your foes. Perhaps this comb offers a soothing melody to these crabs? Additionally, please explain your written laughter. | Clouds part, of course. A tide song held in these delicate metal teeth. Calming. Restorative. I must seek out its companion drum. Or, if none to be found, a Tide-Reader who may recognize its tune. Lastly, laughter offered so others may partake. |
